Hi again. Much has happened since the last time I blogged. My job became alot busier and I had my first chance to travel in this beautiful country. I spent 2 weeks scuba diving at the Tawali dive resort in Milne Bay on the east coast of PNG (more about that later) and then spent 8 days traveling the mighty Sepik river in a motorized dugout canoe. The children you see in the picture were from a village called Kaigeru far up the Sepik on a tributery called the April river. Although they have been exposed to modern life they still live in a traditional way. At first they were quite shy but eventually loosened up. It was really an eye opening experience for me and I will write about it more in coming blogs. Its good to write again as it feels that I am sharing my adventures but its hard to get started after a long lay-off. I am leaving friday to climb the highest mountain in PNG (4500 meters) named Mt. Wilhelm and if I dont fall off, I will fill you in on the trip when I come back next week.

Kagiru was definetly one of the strangest and best experiences of our life… That picture warms my heart!
